These log headboards are built from locally harvested wood and designed as true Northwoods bedroom pieces.
Selected woods include Yellow Birch (Betula alleghaniensis), Ironwood (American hop-hornbeam, Ostrya virginiana) and Sugar Maple (hard maple, Acer saccharum).
Each headboard is constructed using traditional mortise-and-tenon joinery, creating a solid, long-lasting frame with joints that lock together naturally without relying on metal brackets. This method produces heirloom-quality stability and a clean, authentic log-built look.
Every piece combines a handcrafted log frame with solid cherry panels featuring wildlife carvings — bears, deer, wolves, beavers, and other forest scenes.
You can have us hand-carve the animal you want in the panels for your bed.
The logs are selected for character, dried, shaped, and sanded by hand. Natural knots, grain, and gentle curves are left on display,
so the headboard feels like it came straight out of the forest and into the cabin.

Just a note: this is a very part-time craft operation, and I only take on a limited number of builds each season.
